NPI Contract Engineer - Job Description

·         Coordinate with design teams to validate design deliverables for new product releases. 

·         Coordinate communications associated with the release effort between cross-functional teams in several global locations. 

·         Document build-process of new products through checklists and procedures. 

·         Plan and implement new product releases with high level focus on impact to business systems.

o   Communication

§  Effective written and verbal communication.

§  Ability to coordinate review and release efforts for new product  designs.

o   Common Sense.

·         Professional Skills

o   EXCEL:  Use to manage program data and large BOM exports.  Prefer skills in conditional formatting, sorting/filtering big data sets, macros, array formulas.

o   OUTLOOK:  Ability to manage high email volumes effectively and efficiently.

o   PRO-E: not needed but would be a plus.    

o   PLM (ENOVIA or other) not needed but would be a plus.

·         NPI Knowledge set

o   Understand relationships between modern business systems including PLM, MRP, and CRM. 

§  Know what an ECO does.

§  Know how material is driven in an MRP system. 

§  Know standard methods for design handoff, release. 

§  Know when to use make and buy assemblies

§  Know the meaning and impact of make/buy lead times. 

§  Know implications of BOM structure on materials group and build sequence.

§  Ideally familiar with Enovia and perhaps SAP. Not needed but a plus.
