We are currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Product Estimator in our San Jose, California corporate headquarters. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations. The ideal candidate will be technically competent and knowledgeable in the cable and harness manufacturing industry; will be a self-starter; will have worked in a manufacturing environment, have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with people. You will possess the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will work closely with NPI’s Customer Service Dept. to drive continuous improvement in NPI’s overall business strategy and execution. 

Position Title: Product Estimator

Key Job Responsibilities

• Manage customer quote requests via the assigned Customer Service Representative
• Maintain and manage the quote database
• Analyze and evaluate customers’ RFQ requirements
• Coordinate with internal groups to obtain supporting information as needed
• Develop and deliver quote responses for customer service
• Maintain and analyze management mandated Key Performance Indicators relating to quoting activities

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years work experience and extensive hands-on product knowledge in Contract Manufacturing environment
• Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes relating to cable, harness, sheet metal, and electro-mechanical assemblies
• Familiarity of supply base for variety of components integral to above assemblies
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel  and able to execute multiple scenarios using formulas and functions
• Experience in manufacturing processes, and estimating labor content and materials requirements
• Understanding of materials and labor applied to Work Orders in Contract Manufacturing environment
• B.S. in technical field of study or work equivalent
