JOB TITLE: Manufacturing
Engineer
POSITION TYPE: Exempt, Regular Full Time
REPORTS TO: Director of Manufacturing / Engineering
STARTING BASE PAY: Annually
WORK SHIFT: NPI regular business hours, extended as needed
Summary
Responsible
for Manufacturing Engineering activity in assigned production
departments (either assembly or mechanical) as well as functioning as
project coordinator on manufacturing improvement projects as assigned.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize
New Product Introduction criteria for the following: manufacturing
process development, tool design, integrated schedules, design to
cost, sourcing technical support, quality qualifications, test
support, product cost out, and introduction into the supply chain
- Provide
technical leadership for manufacturing processes cables, harnesses,
electro-mechanical assemblies, inspection and testing, and tool
& fixture designs
- Apply
knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment production and test
methodologies
- Manage
effectively multiple priorities under tight deadlines and bring
assigned projects/programs to successful completion/profitable
implementation
- Gather
data and develop manufacturing solutions and document required
supporting OMS, SOE, MI, drawings, specs
- Perform
other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience
in project leadership positions in engineering or manufacturing
environments
- Possess
current technical knowledge of the latest trends in manufacturing
technology and the ability to apply and adapt the technology to new
situations
- At
least 5 years hands-on experience in contract manufacturing of
cable/harness/box build
- Minimum
of 5 years’ experience reading, understanding, and compiling
technical specifications, blueprints and multi-level bills of
material
- Ability
to work collaboratively in cross-functional organizations
- Able
to multi-task, pay attention to detail and have the ability to
perform responsibilities with dependability, reliability,
thoroughness, accuracy, confidentiality and timeliness
- Ability
to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Must
perform well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong
interpersonal skills with an ability to work within a fast paced
team environment
- Must
present a positive/professional image and possess a sense of urgency
and accountability
- Excellent
organizational skills and written/verbal communication skills
